Argentina’s General Administration of Ports (AGP) saw advancements in railway connection projects that will favor the transit of trains, as well as in the extension of 14th street, which will facilitate truck flow to the Port of Buenos Aires. These projects, coordinated by the National Ministry of Transport, will reduce queues at terminal entrances, relieve traffic within the port, and avoid congesting city streets.

The extension of 14th Street will create a new road access to the Port of Buenos Aires, with eight lanes designed to accommodate heavy traffic. This new gateway will connect Paseo del Bajo with Tomas Alva Avenue and the Port Support Zone, allowing traffic redirection directly into the port’s jurisdiction area, thus, decongesting city lanes and reducing waiting times.

In turn, the railway implementation will connect Wharf E to rail lines 3 and 5 under port jurisdiction through a 665-meter long mixed gauge track. The goal is to reduce railway traffic through the crossing at Ramón Castillo Avenue, which often creates gridlocks.
