According to information from the Federal Government’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), released on August 8, shipments of fresh, frozen, or chilled pork from Brazil in the first week of August (five business days) showed an improvement in the general picture compared to August 2021 and the last week of July.
SAFRAS & Mercado analyst Fernando Henrique Iglesias explains that the volume exported increased thanks to the good pace of shipments destined for Vietnam, Argentina, Philippines, Singapore, and Chile.
“The big problem of the sector today is pulverizing these shipments, which coexists with a still tough scenario regarding average profitability. Throughout the year, China continues to reduce the volume of its imports,” he explained.
The revenue obtained from pork exports at the beginning of the month, US$ 50,793.67, is 26% of the amount seen in August 2021, US$ 195,674,733. Regarding the volume shipped, the 21,405,323 tonnes are 26.2% of the amount registered in August last year, amounting to 81,417,673 tonnes.
The average revenue per day at the beginning of the month was US$ 10,158,734, 14.2% higher than in August 2021. Compared with the previous week, there was an increase of 1.9%.
The average daily volume was 4,281.0646, an increase of 15.7% compared to the same month in 2021. Compared to the result in the previous week, there was an increase of 2.2%.
