The first months of the 2022/2023 harvest saw an increase in Brazilian orange juice exports.
According to Brazil’s Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), Brazil shipped 175,900 tonnes of the commodity in July and August 2022, an increase of 8% compared to the same months last year.

Domestic market
As for the domestic market, the production of oranges in the 2022/23 harvest in the state of São Paulo and Minas Gerais should total 314.09 million boxes of 40.8 kg, according to an estimate by Fundecitrus (Citriculture Defense Fund) disclosed this week, with a reduction of 0.9% compared to May, but a recovery of 19.4% compared to the 2021/22 season.
Despite the positive performance, the higher production is not enough to generate surpluses due to the increased industrial demand and the low juice stocks.
