
Sugar: Brazilian exports reach 1.229 mln tonnes in January

According to data from the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), the average revenue obtained from Brazilian exports of sugar and other molasses each day reached US$ 36.095 million in January’s first 15 working days. In the first half of the month, the average daily volume of exports reached 81,980 thousand tonnes.
Almost 1,229,711 tonnes of sugar were exported in January, with revenues of US$ 541.435 million and an average price of US$ 440.30 per ton. Compared with the daily average of January 2022, US$ 24.752 million, there was a 45.8% increase in the value obtained daily by sugar exports in January 2022.

There is an increase of 27.6% in volume compared to the 64,263 thousand tonnes shipped daily in January 2022. On the other hand, the average price rose 14.3%, compared to US$ 385.20 per ton seen in January 2022.
