Brazil: Anec exporters association lowers soy, corn, wheat estimates

Brazilian corn exports should add up to 5 million tonnes this month, says the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec), which revised its weekly estimates based on port schedules. The estimation is 3.85% lower than last week’s and 125% higher than the January 2022 volume.

Anec also cut its estimate for soybean shipments. It reduced its forecasts by 10.3% to 1.22 million tonnes, down 46.5% from January last year.

In the case of soymeal, the association expects exports of 1.44 million tonnes, which is a drop of 5.3% compared to the previous figures. The new forecast is 8.9% lower than exports for the first month of 2022.

The entity also reduced its forecast for wheat shipments. The reduction was 2.4% to 784.2 thousand tonnes, but this still represents a 12.6% increase over sales abroad in January 2022.
