TCP launches app to make truck drivers’ access to terminals easier

TCP, the company managing the Container Terminal of Paranaguá, officially launched the TCP GO application on Thursday (Feb 23), which aims to speed up truck drivers’ entry into the terminal, eliminating the need for a printed scheduling guide. With a daily average of 1,300 truck entries at the terminal, the technology will optimize processes for users and the company itself.

The terminal recommends drivers have an active registration in the customers portal. Once done, they must download the app and validate their driver’s license registration and social security numbers. To log in, an email and mobile number are mandatory.

With TCP GO, the driver can access the terminal by opening a digital booking guide and generating a QR Code. The app also allows users to access the record of their visits, receive real-time notifications on the status of the terminal and highways, and give feedback on the services used.

Investments in new technologies

TCP GO is part of the Container Terminal in Paranaguá’s technological innovation plan. For example, TCP was Brazil’s first port to be licensed to use an LTE (Long Term Evolution) private wireless network in 2022. The technology ensures more operational reliability, providing customers with increased security, reduced risk of damage, and improved cargo service.

LTE technology was implemented in addition to the Wi-Fi network for increased operational availability. The wireless network is also used in cellular data services, offering high speed, low latency, and the mobility necessary for the terminal’s operation.
