Trader and grain crusher ADM set historical records of soybean and soymeal shipments through its terminal in the Port of Santos in March and the first quarter, with the company reaping the results of investments made in the terminal amid a historic harvest in Brazil.
The global agribusiness giant reported the export of 963,000 tonnes of soybeans and meal in March, an increase of 197,000 tonnes compared to the same month in 2022; the company told Reuters on April 27.
The company also pointed out that March’s performance yielded a quarterly record, totaling 1.738 million tonnes in the first three months of the year.
The soybeans were shipped in March to China, and the meal to Europe and Asia stated ADM.
