Strong winds force Navy to suspend navigation in Babitonga Bay

The navy chapter in São Francisco do Sul announced that it has suspended all ship movements in Babitonga Bay, starting from 7:30 am on Thursday, July 13, due to the adverse weather conditions in the north of Santa Catarina.
The decision is a precautionary measure by the Brazilian Navy because of the wind gusts that hit the region, which prevent vessels from sailing in the ports of São Francisco do Sul and Itapoá.
The reopening of the channel will depend on the weather conditions. The Navy, along with the São Francisco do Sul pilotage division, will constantly monitor Babitonga Bay.
So far, there have been no reports of incidents at the port complex.
