Global coffee exports, including arabica and robusta, reached 10.4 million 60-kilogram bags in July, a 6.7% drop compared to the 11.5 million bags shipped in the same period last year, according to the International Coffee Organization (ICO).
In the year-to-date figures for the 2022/23 crop year (up to July), global coffee exports totaled 93.4 million bags, marking a 6.2% decline.
The chart below shows Brazilian coffee exports from January 2019 to June 2023. Data are from DataLiner.

The organization also provided insights into global coffee production. For the 2021/22 coffee season, ICO estimates a 4% drop in supply, down to 168.5 million bags. However, a production rebound of 1.7% is expected in 2022/23, with 171.3 million bags.
On the other hand, global coffee consumption increased by 4.2% during the 2021/22 coffee season, reaching 175.6 million bags. Nevertheless, concerns about the global economic growth rate are expected to dampen demand in 2022/23, with ICO estimating a volume of 178.5 million bags.
