Sep, 25, 2023 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202339
CMA CGM is revising the Low Water Surcharge (LWS) applicable to all cargo from/to Manaus, Brazil.
The decision comes amidst a lack of improvement in navigability conditions on the Amazon River.
The shipping line has declared that the new LWS will amount to $1,100 per TEU, effective 25 September 2023.
For US territories, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Panama, Venezuela, Argentina, and Ecuador, the amount will be set at $750 per TEU effective 5 October, then $1,100 from 25 October.
