South Africa greenlights imports of Brazilian fish
Mar, 07, 2024 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202410
Last Friday (March 1st), Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) got word that South African health authorities approved the purchase of fish and their derivatives produced in Brazil. This process came to an end in less than a week after President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva urged Minister Carlos Fávaro to expand markets in the African Union.
This development marks the 17th market opened this year, solidifying Brazil’s diverse export agenda. In 2023, South Africa had already opened markets for pet chews and animal by-products for animal feed.
