Apr, 09, 2024 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202415
In the initial week of April, Brazil’s trade balance showed a surplus of US$ 2.88 billion. This figure, released on Monday (8) by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services (Mdic)’s Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), is the outcome of US$ 7.69 billion in exports and US$ 4.81 billion in imports during the same period.
Compared to April 2023, exports in the first week of April saw a 2.1% increase, averaging US$ 1.54 billion per day. This growth was primarily supported by a significant 38.6% rise in sales from the extractive industry and a modest 1.2% increase in shipments from the manufacturing sector. However, agricultural exports experienced a notable decline of 16.2%.
