An external audit conducted by QMS do Brasil confirmed that the Port of São Francisco do Sul renewed for another year its ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) Certification, both in their latest 2015 versions.
QMS’s lead auditor, Renato Anselmo, announced the significant achievement on Friday, June 7, after completing an audit at the terminal. The audit indicated that the port has the systemic capacity to meet the requirements applicable to services covered by ISO certification.
The Port achieved ISO certification in July 2022, allowing São Francisco do Sul to join a select group of certified public ports. Following an external audit in 2023, the port received its first renewal for another year.
ISO 9001 (Quality Management) is a set of guidelines on quality management standards aimed at securing high-level customer service. ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) sets the requirements for an environment-aware management system, focusing on a company’s commitment to managing and preventing potential environmental impacts.
For the port’s president, Cleverton Vieira, maintaining the certification demonstrates the administration’s and staff’s dedication to excellence.
“Keeping the ISO seal validates our unwavering commitment to excellence in both internal operations and customer service. This increases the administrative and environmental efficiency for our users and makes the port more competitive in achieving its growth objectives in the port market, according to Vieira.
Over the week, the external auditor visited various sectors of the port to evaluate the Integrated Management System processes. He questioned employees about their activities and checked if their responses matched the corresponding documentation.
