Rabobank released its August monthly report on Brazil’s coffee market today, authored by Guilherme Morya. The report highlights a significant increase in coffee exports in July 2024, with Brazil exporting 3.7 million 60kg bags of coffee, marking a 26% rise compared to last year.
One of the key takeaways from the report is that cumulative exports from January to July reached 28.1 million bags, an impressive 46% increase over 2023. The Arabica coffee segment saw a substantial 31% growth in 2024, totaling 20.7 million bags. Meanwhile, Conilon coffee exports also showed remarkable growth, with 5.2 million bags exported this year—a staggering 314% increase from the previous year. This surge is attributed to supply constraints in Vietnam and Indonesia.
With the impending implementation of the European Union’s Deforestation-Free Products Regulation (EUDR) in 2025, Brazilian exports to the EU rose by 64.9% in 2024, reaching 13.3 million bags. The European Union currently accounts for 47.3% of Brazil’s coffee exports.
In terms of pricing, the Brazilian coffee market remains among the highest ranked. Prices stayed high in July, and this trend is expected to continue into August, driven by uncertainties in robusta coffee supply, adverse weather conditions in Brazil, and significant involvement from non-commercial funds in the New York market.

Lastly, Rabobank has revised its forecast for the 2024/25 harvest, adjusting it from 69.8 million bags to 67.1 million bags due to lower yields and reduced screen sizes.
