On Monday (14), Brazil’s Federal Highway Police seized nearly 800 kilograms of cocaine hidden in coffee sacks near the Port of Santos, along the Anchieta Highway. The drug was concealed inside a container and uncovered during a joint operation with the Federal Police and the Federal Revenue Service aimed at cracking down on drug trafficking in the Baixada Santista region.
Officers detected suspicious activity at a company storing containers. Upon inspecting a truck, they found coffee bales stuffed with the narcotics. Forensic analysis confirmed the shipment contained 792 kilograms of cocaine. The truck driver was arrested on the spot. This bust deals a blow of over R$ 60 million to drug traffickers, and the cocaine was reportedly destined for markets in Asia or Europe.
