The Bahía Blanca Consortium has slated a land slot within the port complex for Pampa Energía’s upcoming fertilizer plant. According to Argenports, the slot will remain earmarked for six months, with the option for an additional six-month extension.
“This adds to the existing land booked by TGS for its projects. Meanwhile, the Board of Directors is actively reviewing proposals from other companies interested in establishing operations at the port,” stated the consortium.
The planned fertilizer plant is expected to require an investment of approximately USD 1.2 billion, though Pampa Energía estimates the total could reach between USD 1.5 billion and USD 2 billion.
This project marks the third significant land reservation in Bahía Blanca. Previously, Brazilian mining company Vale began constructing a potassium chloride extraction facility before abandoning the effort. That land was later reserved by YPF and Petronas for an LNG production plant, which has since been relocated to Río Negro.
