Philippines Opens Market for Brazilian Pork Exports

The Brazilian government has welcomed the recent approval allowing Brazil to export frozen pork mesentery and jowl to the Philippines. These products, commonly used in processed foods and sausages, are now authorized under the current International Sanitary Certificate.

In 2024, the Philippines became Brazil’s largest pork export market, further strengthening trade relations by incorporating products highly valued in Asian markets. This milestone not only enhances confidence in Brazilian exports but also contributes to the country’s growing export volumes.

Additionally, three other markets in the Philippines were opened to Brazilian exports this year: tilapia fingerlings, animal recycling products, and ornamental fish.

These developments highlight a significant achievement for Brazil’s agribusiness sector, which has secured 205 new market openings in 2024 alone, bringing the total to 283 markets across 62 countries since the start of 2023.

This progress underscores the collaborative efforts of Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) in expanding agricultural trade worldwide.
