Founded in Pelotas nearly 40 years ago, Freedom is a company specializing in manufacturing powered wheelchairs and electric vehicles, gaining international recognition for its use of proprietary technology. This pioneering history now includes the involvement of the ports of Rio Grande do Sul in the development of the brand’s projects.
The company has signed a 48-month temporary usage contract with Portos RS to receive and store containers at Porto de Pelotas. To mark the partnership, businessman Gino Salvador visited the Pelotas unit on Monday (October 9) for a presentation of the company’s expansion project.
During the event, he was welcomed by the President of Portos RS, Cristiano Klinger, the Port of Pelotas Manager, Gilmar Bazanella, and the Planning and Development Manager of the public company, Fernando Estima. Mayor Paula Mascarenhas and the elected mayor, Fernando Marroni, also participated in the meeting.
At the end of the presentation, Klinger celebrated the partnership and emphasized the industry’s perspective on the unit. “Freedom is an important company in its field, and Porto de Pelotas is proud to be part of this story, enabling even greater development for the brand, which is a great source of satisfaction for all of us,” he said.
