Vietnam Opens Market for Brazilian Cattle Hides
Jan, 03, 2025 Posted by Denise VileraWeek 202501
The Vietnamese government has announced opening its market to imports of salted cattle hides from Brazil. This raw material is widely used in the leather industry to produce footwear, furniture, and accessories.
“This opening further strengthens the trade relationship with Vietnam, the fifth-largest destination for Brazilian agribusiness exports last year,” stated the Ministry of Agriculture in a note on Thursday (January 2). Between January and November 2024, Vietnam imported over $3.51 billion of agricultural products from Brazil.
This marks Brazil’s first market access secured in 2025, bringing the total to 303 since the beginning of the current administration.
