Bhutan Approves Brazilian Beef Imports, Expanding Market Access in Asia
Feb, 20, 2025 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202508
The Brazilian government has announced that Bhutanese health authorities have approved the International Sanitary Certificate (CSI) for importing frozen Brazilian beef, paving the way for expanded trade between the two nations.
This market opening strengthens bilateral trade ties and gives Bhutan greater access to high-quality protein, supporting the country’s food security efforts. It also bolsters Brazilian beef exports in Asia, driving growth in the agribusiness sector and generating new jobs.
With this latest deal, Brazil has secured 26 new export markets in 2025, bringing the total to 326 since the start of 2023.
These gains reflect the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), which continue to push for greater global market access for Brazilian agricultural products.
