The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) has welcomed the announcement from Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) regarding Vietnam’s market opening for chicken offal and the resumption of chicken feet exports. With a population of approximately 100 million, Vietnam is emerging as a key Asian market for Brazilian poultry exports.
Vietnam imports around 170,000 tonnes of poultry meat and products annually. In 2024, Brazil shipped 11,000 tonnes of poultry products to the country, making it the seventh-largest destination for Brazilian poultry exports in Asia.
Ricardo Santin, ABPA’s president, underscored the significance of the development: “Vietnam is a high-value market for chicken offal and feet, with strong demand for these products. This opening, made possible through close collaboration between Mapa and the private sector, is expected to significantly boost Brazil’s poultry export performance this year.”
The move is set to strengthen Brazil’s poultry industry, driving export growth and opening new business opportunities in the region.
