Brazilian corn exports began July at a much slower pace compared to the same period last year. According to the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), the country shipped only 120,723.1 tonnes of unground corn (excluding sweet corn) in the first four business days of the month—just 3.39% of the volume exported in July 2024, which totaled 3,553,865.8 tonnes.

Below is a historical overview of corn exports from Brazil. The chart was prepared using DataLiner data:

The daily average of shipments stood at 30,180.8 tonnes, a drop of 80.5% compared to the 155,159 tonnes/day recorded last year.

According to Roberto Carlos Rafael from Germinar Corretora, Brazil’s export program remains delayed, also reflecting the slow start to the second corn crop harvest. The analyst explained that some previously signed contracts have yet to be fulfilled due to a lack of harvested grain available for shipment.

Rafael now expects exports to gain momentum and reach between 7 and 8 million tons by the end of July.

In terms of revenue, Brazil has earned US$28.164 million so far this month, compared to US$700.644 million in all of July last year. The daily average revenue dropped 76.9%, from US$30.4 million to US$7.04 million per business day.

On the other hand, the average price per ton rose 18.3% year-over-year, from US$197.20 in July 2024 to US$233.30 as of July 2025.
