According to Tribuna, the area that was occupied by Libra Terminais in the Port of Santos must be relicitated as two pulp terminals. The information was given by the national secretary of Ports and Waterway Transports of the Ministry of Infrastructure shortly after the auction of the port terminals held on Tuesday (08/13).
“We concluded the vocational studies from the point of view of the demand of the Port and identified that the most adherent to the profile is cellulose,” explained Diogo. In the next 20 days the government should launch a public consultation on the issue.
The following chart, made from DataLiner data, shows the volume exported by Libra Terminals in the Port of Santos from 2009 to 2018:
Two areas were leased in Santos
The federal government raised R$149m in the auction of two port areas in Santos and one in the Port of Paranaguá.
In the Port of Santos, the dispute was great for the area STS20, focused on fertilizers and salt, which is in the region of Outeirinhos. There were three companies interested in the lease. The highest initial bid was made by the holding company Hidrovias do Brasil, of R$65m, followed by the TRH Consortium (formed by the groups Rocha Log and Harbor), which offered R$40m, and Aba Infrastructure and Logistics, with R$21m. .
Hidrovias do Brasil is a new company, created in 2011, whose main investor is the Pátria Fund. Its main clients are Cargil and Bunge and it sells the agricultural production of these two companies through the ports of Arco Norte.
The area STS13A, which is on Barnabé Island and which is used for liquid bulk with focus on fuels was bought by Aba Infrastructure, which already operates in the Santos pier with the terminal company Adonai and controls Concais, leaseholder of Passenger Terminal Giusfredo Santini.
