American President Donald Trump stated that the United States will apply a tariff on the “rest of the world,” referring to countries that fail to reach a trade agreement with the U.S, revealing that the rate will “vary” between 15% and 20%.

“It’ll probably be one of those two numbers,” Trump said.

The new tariff was announced during the U.S. president’s visit to Scotland, accompanied by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Reflecting on the number of countries in the world, Trump stated, “We can’t sit down and make 200 trade deals,” stressing that these “other” nations will also have to pay if they want to trade with the U.S.

He also announced that the U.S. government will soon begin sending new letters to notify trade partners about the tariffs.
