The Regional Superintendency of the Federal Police (PF) in Pernambuco and the Governador Eraldo Gueiros Industrial Port Complex (Suape) signed, this week, Technical Cooperation Agreement No. 001/2025, aimed at strengthening public security actions in the port area and regional waterways. The document, formalized for the first time between the PF and a port authority, represents an innovative and strategic partnership in combating crimes committed within the port zone.
The agreement establishes a strategic collaboration between the two institutions to implement active policing procedures by the PF’s maritime police unit, focusing on the prevention and repression of crimes under its jurisdiction, including drug trafficking, smuggling, environmental crimes, and transnational offenses.
The initiative includes exchanging information, sharing infrastructure and logistical resources, and joint participation in operational and intelligence activities. The Work Plan, part of the agreement, details each party’s responsibilities and defines specific goals and actions to improve efficiency in policing activities within the Port Complex and its anchorage area.
The agreement is valid for 60 months and does not involve the transfer of financial resources. The expenses for implementing the activities will be covered by each institution in accordance with its respective responsibilities. The document was signed electronically by the legal representatives — the Regional Superintendent of the Federal Police in Pernambuco, Delegate Antonio de Pádua Vieira Cavalcanti, and Suape’s CEO, Armando de Queiroz Monteiro Bisneto.
