New market openings for Brazil in the United States, Iran, Saint Lucia and Uruguay

The Brazilian government has concluded sanitary and phytosanitary negotiations with four countries, resulting in nine new market openings for Brazilian agribusiness.

In the United States, local authorities approved the export of Brazilian plant-based pet food. Between January and September 2025, Brazil exported more than US$9 billion in agricultural products to the U.S.

In Iran, local authorities authorized Brazil to export zucchini seeds and watermelon seeds. From January to September 2025, Brazilian agricultural exports to Iran exceeded US$1.8 billion, driven by corn, soybean complex products, and sugarcane-related goods.

In Saint Lucia, local authorities approved Brazilian exports of poultry meat and products, pork and pork products, and beef and beef products. Between January and September 2025, Brazil exported more than US$216 million in agricultural products to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), of which Saint Lucia is a member.

In Uruguay, local authorities authorized the export of Brazilian eucalyptus seedlings, olive tree seedlings, and ora-pro-nóbis plants. From January to September 2025, Brazil exported over US$719 million in agricultural goods to Uruguay, led by animal protein, forest products, mate, fibers, and textiles.

With these announcements, Brazilian agribusiness has achieved 453 new market openings since early 2023.

These results are the outcome of joint efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
