DP World has announced the launch of the Smart Gate DP World app, designed for truck drivers operating at the company’s terminal in the Port of Santos (SP). The new tool aims to modernize drivers’ experience and reduce their waiting time within the port complex.
With the app, drivers will be able to check booking details in advance, review access instructions, update registrations, and easily meet scheduled times digitally. The initiative seeks to optimize vehicle flow, improve operational efficiency, and enhance safety during transit.
The application also provides up-to-date company information to transport companies and associations representing independent drivers at the Port of Santos, helping reduce bottlenecks and waiting times at the terminal.
DP World currently has around 40,000 registered drivers in its database. At its gate alone, more than 2,000 daily transactions take place from Monday to Friday, and over 1,000 on weekends. By offering a dedicated digital platform, the company reinforces its commitment to agility and efficiency at Latin America’s largest port complex.
Starting in November, the DP World Smart Gate app will be available for download on the Apple Store and Google Play, but access will be restricted to drivers pre-approved by transport companies — ensuring operational safety and data integrity.
The new platform marks a milestone in the company’s relationship with truck drivers, offering tangible benefits to those who face daily challenges in road transport. It also strengthens ties with logistics companies by reducing delays, preventing congestion, and increasing operational predictability.
