Coffee exports fall in volume, but revenue rises on higher prices

Brazilian coffee exports are showing mixed performance in the 2025/26 crop year, with a decline in shipped volumes but a significant increase in revenue, according to data from the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé) analyzed by Cepea (Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics).
Between July and November, Brazil exported 17.43 million 60-kg bags, representing a 21.7% drop compared to the same period of the previous season. Despite this, accumulated revenue totaled US$6.72 billion, an 11.6% year-on-year increase, driven by high international coffee prices.
According to Cepea researchers, the reduction in export volumes is linked to lower shipments to the United States, the main destination for Brazilian coffee. The decisive factor was the tariff imposed by the U.S. government on imports from Brazil, in effect between August and November 2025, along with tighter domestic coffee supply and weaker demand due to elevated prices.
