Corn Exports Soar in April, with Daily Shipment Average 116% Higher than in 2024

On Monday (April 28), Brazil’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) reported that exports of unground corn (excluding sweet corn) reached 141,053.4 tons in April 2025 — a significant increase compared to the 66,139.4 tons recorded during the same period in 2024.
Sharp Increase in Daily Average
In the first 17 business days of the month, the daily average of shipments was 8,297.3 tons — a 176% increase compared to the daily average of 3,006.3 tons in April last year.
Revenue on the Rise
In terms of revenue, Brazil earned USD 39.792 million from corn exports during the period, surpassing the USD 23.802 million obtained throughout April 2024. As a result, the average daily revenue reached USD 2.340 million—a 116.3% increase compared to USD 1.081 million per business day in the previous year.
Drop in Average Price
Despite the surge in volume and earnings, the average price per ton of Brazilian corn dropped by 21.6%, falling from USD 359.90 in April 2024 to USD 116.30 in April 2025.
