Brazilian exports of soybeans, soybean meal, corn, and wheat are expected to close 2025 above the 2024 result, according to the weekly report by the National Association of Cereal Exporters (ANEC), prepared jointly with Cargonave based on shipment schedules. The estimate is that the country will end the year with between 176.3 million and 177.1 million tonnes across the four products, representing an increase of around 10% compared with 2024, when the total reached 160.6 million tonnes.

Performance is driven mainly by soybeans. The projection for 2025 is 109.2 million tonnes, up from 97.3 million tonnes in 2024. Soybean meal also grows, but more moderately, rising from 22.84 million to 23.30 million tonnes. Corn shows a more substantial increase toward the end of the year: exports are expected to range between 41.46 million and 42.30 million tonnes in 2025, compared with 37.83 million tonnes the previous year. Wheat, on the other hand, is the only product to decline, falling from 2.58 million to 2.32 million tonnes.

The most recent snapshot of the report shows a change in pace in the last two weeks of December, with corn taking the lead. For the penultimate week of the year, ANEC projects shipments of 1,665,611 tonnes of corn, above the volume scheduled for the previous week (1,232,305 t, from December 14 to 20). In the same period, soybean shipments fell from 777,158 t to 647,773 t, while soybean meal rose from 358,001 t to 484,782 t. Wheat shipments decline from 219,322 t to 90,695 t.

The port breakdown helps explain this dynamic. Santos appears as the primary outlet for the week, with 801,586 t of corn and 339,698 t of soybeans scheduled. Paranaguá remains relevant for both soybeans and derivatives, with 239,775 t of soybeans and 129,500 t of soybean meal, in addition to 69,810 t of corn. In the northern arc, notable corn volumes include Barcarena (322,595 t), Santarém (168,330 t), and São Luís/Itaqui (126,500 t).

Below is a historical overview of corn exports through the Port of Paranaguá from January 2022 onward. The chart was prepared using DataLiner data:

Despite the increase, the report itself notes that corn still has some variability in this year-end close. For December, the shipment schedule points to 6,735,098 t. Still, ANEC considers the month could end at a lower level, between 5.9 million and 6.735 million tonnes (the document uses an average of 6,317,549 t as a reference).

Cumulatively from January to November, the figures also indicate growth in soybeans and corn. Soybeans rise from 95.83 million tonnes (2024) to 105.71 million tonnes (2025), while corn increases from 34.21 million to 35.56 million tonnes. Soybean meal posts a slight gain, from 21.04 million to 21.41 million tonnes, while wheat declines from 2.28 million to 1.81 million tonnes over the same period.
