Overall, the total number of vessel calls at Brazilian ports dropped slightly by 2% during the first eight months of 2018 compared with the same period last year. The most notable changes during this period comparison were as follows:
- Santos saw 1% more number of vessels
- Paranaguá vessel calls fell by 2%
- Rio Grande calls plunged 10%
- Rio de Janeiro up 13%
- Suape had 9% less vessel calls
- Vila do Conde calls fell 9%
- Navegantes calls went down 17%
- Pecem had 14% higher vessel calls
- Fortaleza had 1% more vessel calls
- Itajai had a massive 65% increase in the number of vessels called
