A vessel operated by COSCO (named Barbara), docked last weekend at the Port of Santos with a sick crew member on board. As per Anvisa’s new rules, it was necessary to inform the Federal Police and Anvisa of the illness on board. The procedure was complied with and a Covid-19 test was requested for the crew members.
According to the test results, two crew members tested positive for COVID-19, and hence, the vessel was not authorized to continue its operations. On Tuesday May 5th, Anvisa will return on board to test the crew again and the vessel will return to anchorage, awaiting results of the tests and further instructions from Anvisa.
