Brazilian egg exports — including both fresh and processed products — totaled 2,076 tonnes in September, according to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). The figure represents a 39.7% increase over the same month last year, when shipments reached 1,485 tonnes.

Export revenue for the month reached US$5.5 million, up 94.2% from US$2.8 million in September 2024.

With this performance, Brazil exported 34,348 tonnes of eggs between January and September, a 174.1% increase compared with the 12,542 tonnes shipped during the same period in 2024. In value, cumulative exports totaled US$80.8 million, 201.7% higher than the US$26.7 million recorded in the previous year.

Japan was the leading destination in September, importing 692 tonnes of eggs — a 497.1% jump compared with the same month in 2024. It was followed by Chile (400 tonnes, -57.1%), the United Arab Emirates (279 tonnes, with no shipments recorded a year ago), Mexico (251 tonnes, also with no shipments last year), and the United States (100 tonnes, -41.1%).

“Following the implementation of the tariff hike, the sector’s export map has been reconfigured, with renewed flows to traditional Middle Eastern markets and newly opened destinations in Latin America,” said Ricardo Santin, president of ABPA.
