As for the planting of cotton for the 2021/22 crop, ABRAPA informed that sowing is being “intensified” in the coming weeks with the end of the fallow period in Bahia, where planting has been allowed since November 21st.
In the southern region and in the Vale do Araguaia de Mato Grosso, the fallow period ends on November 30, while in the northern and western regions of the state, it lasts until December 14th.
The association foresees the cultivation of 1.53 million hectares of cotton in the 2021/22 harvest, with an estimated production of 2.79 million tons of fiber.
