After One Year, APS Hands Over Administration of the Port of Itajaí

After one year, the Santos Port Authority (APS) is no longer responsible for managing the Port of Itajaí (SC). Today’s publication, December 11, in the Federal Official Gazette transfers responsibility to Companhia Docas da Bahia (Codeba), which manages the Ports of Salvador, Aratu, and Ilhéus.
“We fulfilled the mission given by the Ministry of Ports and Airports to restore operations at the Port of Itajaí. We kept the Port operating without interruption, with an average monthly revenue of R$ 14.5 million; maintained 70 jobs; resumed maintenance dredging at a cost of R$ 40.5 million; resolved outstanding liabilities; and APS was still able to secure approval for R$ 154 million in investments for the Port of Itajaí for 2026. We wish every success to Codeba’s management, which begins now,” said APS president Anderson Pomini.
APS took over management of the Port of Itajaí on January 2, 2025, when the municipal concession ended and responsibility returned to the federal government. As a result, the Port of Itajaí once again became attractive and competitive. Now, with the end of APS’s administration on January 1, 2026, Codeba will assume responsibility.
