Aliança will invest US$ 60 million in Brazilian cabotage

The company Aliança, a member of the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group, has recently announced that it will build two 700 TEU vessels and two pusher crafts. The venture will be done in partnership with the Canadian company Robert Allan.
Both pusher crafts and vessels are to be built in up to three years by the Maguari River shipyard, located in the city of Belém, in the state of Para. The total investment will be 60 million dollars and 30 crew member positions will be available as a result of that.
According to Aliança, the barges will display Brazilian flags and will be entirely manned by a national crew.
