Brazil’s soybean exports in June are estimated at 12.55 million tonnes, down from 13.83 million tonnes in the same period last year, according to the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec) on Wednesday.
The volume, based on preliminary vessel scheduling data, also shows a decline compared to May, which closed with 14.2 million tonnes.
“The vessel line-up for June indicates a projected volume of 12.1 million tonnes, a figure that may still be revised in the coming weeks as the month’s line-up continues to take shape,” said Anec.
The association maintained its 2025 export potential projection at 110 million tonnes, which would be a record, easily surpassing last year’s 97.3 million tonnes, following Brazil’s largest-ever soybean harvest.
Brazil’s soybean meal exports are expected to reach 1.29 million tons in June, down from 2.05 million tonnes in the same period last year.
Anec also reported a seasonal improvement in corn shipments, which could reach up to 1 million tonnes in June.
“Historically, corn export volumes increase from June onward, peaking in the second half of the year,” Anec said.
In May, corn shipments totaled only about 70,000 tonnes.
