Another Air Force Gripen fighter arrives at the port of Navegantes

The city of Navegantes, on the northern coast of Santa Catarina, once again welcomes an FAB (Brazilian Air Force) Gripen fighter jet. The aircraft arrived at the port of Navegantes on Monday afternoon (11) and was transported to the city’s airport, where it will proceed to Goiás.

The F-39 Gripen, part of the Brazilian Air Force, came on board a ship that departed from Sweden on November 23. The 12,000-kilometer journey was completed on Monday at 4 pm when it entered the port channel. The aircraft was unloaded from the vessel around 9 pm.

A massive operation was set up to transport the fighter jet to Navegantes Airport, where it made its inaugural flight to the Anápolis Air Base in Goiás.

This marks the seventh FAB aircraft to arrive in Navegantes as part of a project that envisions the delivery of 36 aircraft manufactured by the Swedish company SAAB.
