Antaq Confirms Regulatory Compliance of Cabedelo Port

The National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq) has officially recognized the full regulatory compliance of the Port of Cabedelo following inspections and evaluations conducted under its Annual Supervision Plan. The agency’s report confirms that, over the past 12 months, the port has shown no managerial irregularities that could lead to regulatory infractions.

“This achievement is undeniable proof of our administration’s commitment to complying with sector regulations, and it highlights the exceptional phase the Port of Cabedelo is experiencing. We are seeing nearly BRL 200 million in investments in infrastructure works, operational modernization, and sustainability—driving the most significant transformation in the port’s 90-year history,” said Ricardo Barbosa, CEO of Companhia Docas da Paraíba.

The result reaffirms the port’s commitment to a technical, efficient, and legally aligned administration and represents the culmination of the State Government’s collective efforts. “We are acting diligently and rigorously with regard to Antaq’s formal requirements and, of course, working every day to transform the new Port of Cabedelo into the main engine of development for the state,” Barbosa added.

Antaq’s inspection is a routine procedure that focuses on compliance with specific regulations through the analysis of documents. The evaluation includes aspects such as legal compliance with other entities, licenses and permits, service and tariff reports, as well as actions carried out in the navigation channel and turning basin, among other items.

“This confirmation from such a prestigious agency proves that our work is on the right track. It’s the result of a joint effort by our entire team, the commitment of the State Government of Paraíba—especially Governor João Azevêdo—and our duty to foster development in the state,” Barbosa concluded.
