Brazil’s National Agency for Water Transport (Antaq) is awaiting applications for the construction of a new private port facility in Salvador. The deadline for applications is March 10. The State currently has three public ports; Aratu, Ilhéus, and Salvador, managed by the Bahia Port Authority (Codeba).
One of the interested parties, MFX Brazil, intends to build a small Private Use terminal (TUP) on the BA-528 Highway to move umbilicals. The company intends to make use of ferries to conduct maritime shipping.
