Argentine grain exports generated US$2.4 billion in January, according to data from Argentina’s Cámara de la Industria Aceitera and Centro Exportador de Cereales (CIARA – CEC), institutions that monitor the trade of oilseeds. In December 2021, sales abroad totaled US$ 2.68 billion.
According to Ciara-CEC, high global prices boosted export values. Still, fewer sales of processed soy products and the transportation issues caused by Paraná River’s low level, a major grain shipping route, limited the total amount sent abroad.
