The government of Argentina has launched a plan that aims to generate US$193.1bn in export revenues and quadruple the number of exporting companies by 2030 to reach 40,000.
The Export Development Plan contains specific lines of action based on five axes: market access, trade facilitation, financing, quality and company monitoring.
For the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) chief economist for integration and trade, the plan sets a very clear direction. “The state must get out of the way, eliminating obstacles it can, providing support and tools to facilitate exports.”
The plan was presented by the country’s president, Mauricio Macri, during the opening of the Forum Argentina Exporta on May 23.
