Argentina: Port of Bahía Blanca Grain Exports Up 11% in January 2024

In January, Argentina-based Port of Bahía Blanca saw 644,767 tonnes of grains exported, according to that city’s Grain and Products Exchange. This figure represented an 11% increase compared to the same month in 2023, a jump from 580,562 tonnes last year.
Barley was the port’s top product, accounting for 40% of exports, followed by wheat (26%) and maize (23%). As for destinations, out of the 255,552 tonnes of barley sent abroad, 75% went to China, and the remaining 25% to Malaysia, as reported by ArgenPorts.
Regarding wheat, out of the 168,400 tonnes, 67% were destined for Brazil and 33% for Indonesia. As for the 150,698 tonnes of maize, the main destinations included Malaysia (36%) and Vietnam (22%).
