Argentina is set to resume chicken meat exports to the European Union (EU) following a suspension that began in February due to an outbreak of avian flu in the country, as reported by the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Earlier this month, Argentina declared itself free from the disease after completing health measures and eradicating cases in commercial farms.

In a tweet (current X), the ministry announced that this decision will enable the country’s producers to regain their foothold in the export market with the bloc, which amounted to 7.8 million euros last year. “A 100% increase compared to 2021,” the statement reads. The resumption of shipments was formally endorsed by the bloc through a resolution published this week, permitting the entry of poultry meat shipments and poultry products.
