Argentine exports reach USD 6,443 million in February

In February, argentine exports totaled $6,443 million, while imports totaled $5,634 million. Shipments abroad increased 34.9% compared to the same month in 2021 (1,668 million dollars), owing to price increases of 20.4% and quantity increases of 12%.
Meanwhile, imports increased 51.7% compared to the same month of the previous year (1,921 million dollars), resulting in a rise of 27.6% in quantities and 18.3% in prices.
The trade balance registered a positive balance of 809 million dollars owning to Argentine exports in February, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec).
As a result, the total amount of commercial exchange amounted to 12,077 million dollars, a 43% increase over the same period in 2021.
All market sectors recorded positive variations in imports, except for passenger motor vehicles, which fell 23.7%; meanwhile, fuel and lubricant imports rose 420.8%; consumer goods, 43%; parts and accessories for capital goods, 40.3%; and intermediate goods, 38.8%.
