Farmers in Argentina sold 31.9 million tons of soybeans harvested in the 2020/21 season, said the Ministry of Agriculture on Wednesday, using a report updated on October 13th.
The government informed that the pace of sales is slower than on the same date last year when deals were registered for 33.5 million tons.
Argentina’s 2020/21 soybean harvest ended in June with an output of 43.1 million tons, according to the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, which estimated Argentine soybean production at 49 million tons in the 2019/20 harvest.
Planting for the 2021/22 harvest begins this month. The exchange foresees a harvest of 44 million tons.
