Bahia ports see 0.99% surge in cargo throughput

In September 2023, the Bahia-based ports under CODEBA‘s jurisdiction saw a total cargo throughput of 1,054,143 metric tons, marking a 0.99% increase compared to the same period in 2022 when 1,043,834 metric tons passed through.
A significant highlight is the Port of Ilhéus, which closed the third quarter with cumulative throughput surpassing the entire year of 2022. By September, 461,163 metric tons had been processed in Ilhéus, reflecting a remarkable growth of 14.24% compared to 2022.
Another positive point is the Port of Salvador, which, in September 2023, processed 486,889 metric tons of cargo, representing a substantial 20.58% increase compared to September 2022, when 403,773 metric tons were handled.
