Bolsonaro tweets infrastructure reform proposals

This morning Bolsonaro announced his plans of extending railways and granting road and airport concessions in Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro.

According to the tweet, Bolsonaro has delegated the responsibility to the Ministry of Infrastructure, especially the Vitória and Minas Railroad (EFVM), which connects the Vitória metropolitan area with Belo Horizonte. The extensions will increase the country’s railway network by 15% to 29%.
Also, the government plans to renew concessions of the BR-116 – between Rio and São Paulo, the CRT, and the Rio-Minas Concer. The previous contracts are likely to finish in March 2021. The Ministry is also studying concession of the BR-447 between Minas and Espírito Santo.
