BP Bunge Bioenergia was authorized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to export ethanol from Brazil to the United States. The decision applies to the entire output of the company.
The company can produce 1.7 billion liters of ethanol by harvest and is the third-largest biofuel producer in the country.
“This certification applied to all of our units (…) is in line with our 2030 commitment agenda which includes goals of combating climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions”, said Mario Lindenhayn, chairman of BP Bunge Bioenergia’s board of directors, in a note.
