The Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), through the Executive Secretariat of the Foreign Trade Chamber (Camex), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) this Wednesday (9) with the Brazilian Export Credit and Guarantee Agency (ABGF) and Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI), the export credit agency of the United Arab Emirates.
The document establishes the foundation for technical cooperation between the parties on matters related to official export credit insurance, with a focus on the exchange of information, experiences, and best practices in insurance, finance, and support for projects of mutual interest.
According to Rodrigo Zerbone, Executive Secretary of Camex, “This initiative reinforces the Brazilian government’s effort, particularly that of Minister Geraldo Alckmin, to expand international partnerships and align Brazil’s export credit insurance policy with its foreign counterparts, helping to strengthen Brazil’s productive capacity and integrate the national industry into global value chains.”
Although the memorandum does not establish immediate operational obligations, the institutional instrument paves the way for future joint initiatives, including risk sharing and coordinated operations.
